About Us

We are your local connection in Victoria Falls!

Sawubona and meet Charlotte and her team at Wildside Tours, your local connection in spectacular Victoria Falls! Since Wildside Tours' foundation in 1992, we have been captivated by and are incredibly fond of the friendly and culturally rich Zambian and Zimbabwean people who have kept old values and traditions in this region intact, the natural beauty of the thundering falls, diverse wildlife, Zambesi River, national parks and the various programs made possible by these remarkable features. Our local multilingual staff shares the same vision and enjoys the challenge of creating new programs. We all enjoy Victoria Falls, an adopted home for Charlotte since 2003, and our accumulative local knowledge and wide variety of individual interests provides for an extensive range of eco-friendly excursions and activities in Victoria Falls, as well as creating a diversified network of contacts. By booking with us, you will be receiving expert advice as well as personalised service ensuring your holiday in Vic Falls will be unforgettable!

From the inception of Wildside Tours we set about providing travel services and experiences in a responsible and creative manner so you can simply take pleasure in your holiday. Our services range from customised itineraries for independent travellers to business travel programs to befit any budget. We have built solid working relationships based on mutual respect and through our network of contacts can create original itineraries whilst protecting the Victoria Falls World Heritage Site.

"We are so excited about joining
whl.travel. To be part of this worldwide travel network is awesome knowing that together we are linking many countries and uniting sustainable tourism across the world. Because we have excellent firsthand knowledge of Victoria Falls and Hwange means we can extend this knowledge to overseas visitors and ensure that they get the most out of their holiday through whl.travel."

Our main interest in sustainability focuses on socio-economic concerns because of the environmentally sensitive region in which we work and inequalities in Victoria Falls. Charlotte has lived in Zimbabwe for the past 18 years and has seen Zimbabwe go through many good times and harder times. Throughout these years the people of Zimbabwe have shown an amazing character of hope and courage. Many people have created their own businesses and here in Victoria Falls these enterprises are often associated with tourism whether it be the opening of a lodge, small restaurant, craft shops or taxi business. Wildside Tours has worked for many years sensitising locals as well as visitors to protect the area, supports clean-up campaigns and belongs to numerous associations and organisations that are passionate about conservation. We are careful to ensure that nothing we do will harm the local culture and avoid anything that trivialises this in any way.

"The Zimbabwean people are hopeful and are all in a small way rebuilding by creating more jobs and opportunities through a healthy tourist industry. We are all enjoying the prospect of being of service to our foreign visitors and through
whl.travel we hope to link you up with the wonderful enterprising people of Zimbabwe and are working hard to promote our fantastic town as a destination."

Charlotte Moroney
was born in England and moved to Zimbabwe on Christmas day 1991. She got her first taste of Zimbabwe in Harare where she spent a number of years working in advertising and marketing. Charlotte toured the country on marketing trips and bore witness to the diversity and splendour Zimbabwe has to offer. Charlotte later spent a few years in Kariba and Hwange where she worked managing hotels and safari camps. Her husband Glenn, a proud fourth generation Zimbabwean, has been running a business in Victoria Falls for the past 21 years, and with Charlotte's assistance for the past 12, and it was this business that brought Glenn and Charlotte to Victoria Falls in 2003. They are the proud parents of three daughters and are ready to welcome you to experience all of Vic Falls' brilliance.

Charlotte takes great pleasure in listening to the sounds of the mighty Zambesi as it cascades over the basalt lip 100 metres into the Batoka Gorge below and realises how lucky she is to live in such an incredible place. She and the team at Wildside Tours would love to share with you the magnificence of Zimbabwe and the warmth and hospitality of its people that you'll find very hard to beat! Charlotte would be delighted for you to join her for a few days or weeks and share in the magic which is Zimbabwe.

"We see in
whl.travel a partner who shares our same core values and are extremely impressed with the wider network and see a great future for whl.travel."

We at Wildside Tours thank you for accessing our corner of the whl.travel world and are ready to help you plan your trip to Victoria Falls!
