Lion Encounter

This tour offers guests a chance to meet with a young pride of lions!

Take a walk on the wild side as you stroll through the enchanting natural African bush in the Masuwe River Valley. The area is home to more than 50 species of birds as well as other wildlife such as elephants, buffalos, kudus, impalas, leopards and even lions. The uniqueness of the walk with lions is that although the lions have been hand reared this is definitely not a petting zoo and the lions will walk freely through the bush, occasionally brushing alongside you.

You will be collected from your hotel or lodge in Victoria Falls and transferred to the Masuwe River Concession. Tea and coffee will be served as the guide gives a briefing and safety talk. After the talks and signing of indemnity form your adventure begins and you will be taken on a 1.5 hour walk through the bush accompanied by your pride of lion! After the morning lion walking safari, a full English breakfast will be served on the deck at the Masuwe Safari Lodge. The mid - morning and afternoon walks will end with snacks and drinks. Videos of your personal lion encounter are taken and these are viewed after each walk at the lodge. Purchased copies will be delivered to your lodge or hotel. Following your debriefing, you will be transferred back to your hotel.
