Easily accessible but still in the heart of Savanna forest, Hwange Safari Lodge is an idyllic spot to relax. Enjoy a sundowner overlooking the waterhole, soaking up the atmosphere as elephants jostle for prime position at their favourite watering spot. All the lodge rooms face onto the wide expanse of lawn shaded by Teak and Acacia trees, sprawling out towards the waterhole, frequented throughout the day by several species of wildlife. Cool off from the heat of the day in a crystal clear swimming pool, or relax on a sun lounger viewing game passing through the bush, stopping to quench their thirst or take shade in the forest area surrounding the watering hole. I can't think of a more fabulous way to spot game!
Although game viewing from the lodge is superb, with such species as elephant, zebra, kudu, giraffe, wildebeest, buffalo, impala, warthog, sable, lion and honey badgers being frequent visitors, game drives and game walks into the surrounding forest and national park area can be booked.
A large crystal clear outdoor swimming pool surrounded by sun loungers, overlooking the bush, offers a welcomed opportunity to cool off. There is also a baby pool and children playground area. Day or night game drives on open vehicles and game walks can be booked.
Winter evenings can be chilly but this only enhances your experience at Hwange Safari Lodge as they light large outdoor fires which generate superb heat, gather around the warmth enjoying the company of other guests and a night cap, listening to the evening sounds of the bush, perhaps the roar of the lion or howling hyenas.
