Elephant Ride
Tour details
Elephant Ride
Elephants, often referred to as nature's 4 x 4s, are certainly robust in structure, but surprisingly gentle in their mobility as they pick their way through the bush, walking in relative silence.
As you know elephants consume huge volumes of food and water each day, and they will pull branches and shrubs as they walk, which is rather good fun to watch and to be a part of. Their gentle circular swaying motion as they amble along is quite relaxing, their giant ears wafting cooling air and trunks ever searching for something to eat or play with.
Not forgetting the great vantage point for viewing you have from their backs, riding an elephant provides an opportunity to spot other wildlife species along the trail.
Tea, coffee and biscuits are served on arrival while guests are briefed about the operation and the elephants.
A short training session follows and guests can witness the bond between groom and elephant.
This is followed by a familiarisation session with the elephant and 40-minute ride. Later, guests will have the opportunity to interact with a few of the elephants and then talk about their experiences.
After the morning ride, enjoy a light breakfast and a few drinks, before returning to your hotel.
Snacks and drinks are served after the afternoon rides.
