Escape from the rush of everyday life with a canoe trip on the upper Zambezi River. Gently paddle your way down stream, gliding through hidden channels, under the overhanging waterberry trees. Paddle past pods of hippo, the shimmering green home of the crocodiles and watering holes of buffalos and elephants.
The canoe trail passes along the banks of the river and islands; vegetation consists predominately of ebonies, waterberries, palms, a variety of acacia and albizia. As the river is 'free flow' and not controlled by a dam, it is subject to seasonal variations creating different channels as the water levels rise and fall. There are at least 50 common species of bird, African Finfoot, Sacred Ibis and various mammals, bushbucks, otters, elephants and buffalos which can be spotted throughout the trip.
