Big 5 Interactive Safari, Night Drive and Bush Dinner
Capture the spirit of the African bush as we traverse through teak forests, along the shores of the dam, across Kalahari sand throughout the reserve in an open safari vehicle, seeking the black rhino and viewing many other species along the way. There are several species of antelope including impala, bushbuck, waterbuck, kudu, eland and the majestic sable which can be found browsing and grazing in the teak forests and basalt plains. Other game species include giraffe, buffalo, lion, leopard, zebra, caracal and warthog. The reserve also boasts a wide variety of bird life, raptor and Western Zimbabwean specials such as the Giant Eagle Owl and Coursers and an extensive array of other creatures and critters to satisfy the wildlife enthusiast.
On this amazing wildlife experience you will also get up close and personal with the African Elephant and the Lion as you take an Elephant Back Safari and a Walk with Lions. The day concludes with a night drive seeking the nocturnal predators before nestling around the camp fire and enjoy an evening meal, listening to the night sounds of the African bush.
- On arrival enjoy a welcome cup of tea or coffee,
- Once settled the guides will introduce themselves giving you an outline of the afternoon activities and safety briefing as well as a brief talk on the history of the reserve and wildlife.
- Your afternoon will begin with a walk on the back of natures 4 x 4, the magnificent African Elephant. Take in the bush surroundings as you amble on his back, enjoying the gentle circular swaying as he picks his way through the bush. The Induna (trainer and guide) who accompanies you will share his knowledge and experiences with these wonderful mammals.
- After your elephant walk and interaction time you will meet up with the lions. The 30 minute walk takes through the African bush accompanied by the young pride,who saunter around you, climbing trees, crouching and stalking as they go.
- Thereafter the game drive begins and tracking of the rhino, viewing other wildlife species as you go. Perhaps the evening game drive will reveal to you predators such as hyena and leopard.
- End your wildlife experiences with a pleasant bush dinner and enjoy the ambiance of candles and camp fire; harmonised by the night sounds of the African bush.
- Relax and reminisce the days events before returning to your hotel or lodge.
Participant guidelines
- Clients should dress in long trousers and comfortable walking shoes
- Hats and sunblock are essential
- Bring your binoculars, cameras and wildlife books
- Warm jackets are necessary for the evening game drive

- Children under 15 years of age are not permitted on the lion walk, but will be able to view the lions from the game drive vehicles
- All participants on the lion walk must be above 1.5 meters tall
